How to choose a home airport
- Drive time from home or work, since you'll make the trip every flight
- Runway length and surface for your aircraft and density altitude in summer
- Fuel availability and price
- Maintenance shops on the field
- Towered vs. non-towered, and the airspace around it (Austin's Class C)
- Night operations (some private fields are day-only)
- Hangar wait times and lease rules
